After forming 15 years ago, the local indie pop band Return of Simple released a couple of records and became a fixture on the local scene before eventually relocating to New York in 2009.

A few years ago, after getting "burned out" in New York, the band's frontman, singer-pianist Rob Kovacs, moved back to Cleveland. He just recently relaunched Return of Simple.

Now, Kovacs has announced a Euclid Tavern residency. He’ll perform a different program of music at the venue at 8 p.m. every Sunday through May 13.

This coming Sunday, he’ll celebrate his birthday by playing classic sing-alongs with accompanying musicians for endless jams. On April 22, he’ll play “fancy and posh piano tunes” as part of a special Cocktail Hourz night. He’ll perform with his side project 88bit on April 29. With 88bit, Kovacs creates piano arrangements based on the classic chiptune and Nintendo music.

Return of Simple will perform on May 6, and Kovacs will join other local singers and host an open mic on May 13.

Admission to the shows is free.
