By calling 2-1-1, eligible Ohio taxpayers can schedule a free appointment for tax preparation services. This service is brought to us by the Cuyahoga County and the Cuyahoga Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition as part of the federal Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. This program is available to taxpayers making $60,000 or less per fiscal year, individuals with disabilities and citizens who speak limited English, therefore requiring assistance in preparing tax returns.
Taxpayers must provide a current photo ID, Social Security cards for every adult and child listed on the return and all 2017 tax documents. Tax documents include sources of income, proof of any deductions or credits being sought, verification of health care, their 2016 tax return, and bank account and routing numbers for those seeking a direct deposit. If filing jointly, both parties must be present.
