Rock Hall Dedicates New Hall of Fame Gallery with 2018 Inductees Moody Blues and Jon Bon Jovi

Earlier today, the Rock Hall celebrated the opening of the new Hall of Fame gallery and Inductee exhibit area with a private dedication ceremony that featured 2018 inductees Moody Blues and Bon Jovi.

The new area, which is now open, “reimagines” how inductees are presented in the Rock Hall. It completes a multi-year, multi-million-dollar transformation, which included last summer’s opening of the Power of Rock Experience in the Connor Theatre.

Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris described the new  floor as “amazing” and thanked all the partners who have contributed to the renovations. He said that the Rock Hall Foundation provided a $5 million gift, and he thanked the New York-based foundation’s head Joel Peresman, who was in attendance.

Rock Hall board chairman Chris Connor also spoke about the renovations and thanked the New York board for its support.

Harris unveiled the 2018 Inductees plaque with Moody Blues and Bon Jovi, and Rock Hall curators then installed the plaque in the exhibit area.

“We're very grateful to the Rock Hall of Fame for being that temple for all the music we loved while growing up,” said Moody Blues singer-guitarist Justin Hayward. “We are thrilled. It means a lot to us in the group and to our fans.”

Bon Jovi singer Jon Bon Jovi then took the stage.

“Every kid dreams of making a record and having fame and immortality,” he said. “We all want to write songs that outlive us all. The fans have allowed us the opportunity to touch heaven, and we now join an elite group. We’re thrilled and honored, and it’s about fucking time.”
