Mitchell's Ice Cream Opening in Strongsville Tomorrow

Mitchell's Ice Cream continues its takeover of the Northeast Ohio frozen treats scene, opening a brand new stand-alone location in Strongsville tomorrow at 5 p.m. The shop is the ninth spot for the beloved Ohio City-made dessert shop, and the second for Strongsville, with one already in the SouthPark Mall.

The 3,000 square-foot shop, at 18832 Westwood Dr., is finally opening after construction began last year. And don't worry, all the things you've come to love about the place — the model train roaming around the room, the seasonal ice creams and sustainably-sourced ingredients — will all be there.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony, with the mayor and everything, takes place Wednesday at 10 a.m., reports.

Mitchell's is currently renovating its Solon and Beachwood locations, but those should be open by summer.

As always, for those interested in how the ice cream is made, the flagship Ohio City store offers tours for all, even giving out free ice cream at the end of the excursion.
