In 2016, local indie rockers Bro Dylan released Crisis, a concept album about a character struggling to find hope in his "vapid existence."

Currently at work on a follow-up album, the guys will release a new single, “Alone in the Wilderness,” on Monday, May 21. The song will premiere at 8 that night exclusively on 88.7 WJCU.

Local singer-songwriter Madeline Finn produced the track, and the band recorded it at Scott Hanson’s Wildwood Studios. The catchy song’s theme centers on “redemption from overwhelming self-doubt and feelings of alienation through struggle and eventual surrender.”

The band’s new studio effort, Worse for the Wear, is due out by the end of the year.

“I had to learn everything about the recording process,” says singer Alex Zinni in a press release about the single’s release. “From pre-production, tracking, and mixing, I spent a lot of time getting this material to where it is now. It’s been such a learning experience, and it’s just the beginning.”

The band plays a release show with the Whiskey Hollow and the Midnight Slander at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, at the Beachland Tavern.

“Alone in the Wilderness” will be available for streaming and digital download on June 1.
