After a search to find the best makeup artists in the country, NYX Cosmetics has selected its top 30 artists, with Kent State University student and North Royalton resident Carrie Esser as one of the finalists.

The brains and beauty behind Makeup Madhouse, the self-taught 20-year-old body painter and makeup artist has 12.7 thousand followers on Instagram and updates daily with various looks and makeup expressions.

Her entry titled "Killer Queen" was a glamorous interpretation of a Queen Bee, complete with a bald cap, makeup, and body paint.

Esser has made a video exclusive for Cleveland Scene featuring a tutorial of a fun and funky summer eye makeup look, based on her competitive entry "The Power of Makeup" for the Top 20 leg of the competition in the NYX Cosmetics Face Awards.

To help support Esser in the next stage of the competition, you can visit The Face Awards and vote up to three times daily. Voting lasts until Thursday, May 24.
