In what will surely spark another "shut up and dribble" explosion of ignorance, LeBron James told a group of reporters this morning that regardless of who wins the NBA Finals, "no one wants an invite" to visit Donald Trump at the White House.

The declaration comes on the heels of Trump uninviting Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles from the traditional White House visit, claiming that the Eagles "disagree with their president because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country."

You know, instead of acknowledging that the kneeling national anthem protests are a political statement against police brutality targeted towards young people of color.

LeBron continued with his distaste for Trump this morning stating, "Let's not let someone uninviting you from their house take away from their championship ... winning a championship is way bigger than getting invited to the White House, especially with him in it."

This isn't the first time LeBron has had words with 45. Last year, his tweet calling Trump a "bum," when he defended Steph Curry and the Warriors' decision not to visit the White House, was the most retweeted post by an athlete of 2017. Of course LeBron James' statements are that of his own and may not reflect all of the views of the NBA or the Cleveland Cavaliers or even the Warriors organization. LeBron also criticized Trump on Tuesday for his lack of invitation to the WNBA Champions, the Minnesota Lynx stating, “For them not to be invited playing our beautiful game of basketball ... those women are unbelievable at doing it, I think it’s laughable.”
