Father's Day is swiftly approaching and while waiting in long lines for brunch may be a tradition for many families, Northeast Ohio offers many out-of-the-box opportunities for you and your dad. This Sunday, give your father the gift of adventure.

Take Dad on a Ride Through Nature
The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is offering a Father's Day excursion riding special. For any one National Park Scenic coach ticket that is purchased Friday to Sunday this weekend, one adult coach ticket is free. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is located at 2325 Stine Road in Peninsula.

Celebrate Both Marine Dads and Your Own Dad at The Aquarium
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is offering free admission for dads, stepdads, and grandpas (Sunday June 17, 10 a.m.-5 p.m). The first 150 dads to enter the aquarium receive a free button to celebrate their visit. Completing a fatherhood-themed word puzzle inspired by the exhibits could even win you a free aquarium pass. Best of all children can even create shark-themed cards for their dads. The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is located at 2000 Sycamore Street.

See the New Zoo Animals in the Asian Highlands
Give your father a free wildlife experience. The Cleveland Metropark Zoo is offering free admission for dads (Sunday, June 17, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.), just in time for the opening of the new Asian Highlands exhibit, now featuring red pandas, Amur leopards and the newly born snow leopards. The Cleveland Metropark Zoo is located at 3900 Wildlife Way.

Cycle Out Through the City
Take your dad for a nice afternoon stroll through the city with Cleveland Bike Tours. This two-hour tour will guide you through either downtown Cleveland or Ohio City, highlighting the city's greatest attractions. The Downtown Cleveland bike tour (10 a.m., 2 p.m., 6 p.m.) stops in the Gateway District, Public Square and Playhouse Square, while the Ohio City bike tour (10 a.m., 2 p.m.) takes you through Franklin Castle, the Glass Bubble Project and the West Side Market. The Cleveland Bike Tours begin at the Voinovich Pier located right behind the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame.

Get a Blast From the Past at the Stan Hywet Car Show
If your dad is an auto lover, totally check out the 60th Annual Father's Day Car Show (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, which features more than 400 antique cars on display. Families can also explore the historic gardens or the butterfly habitat. Live music will be playing throughout the courtyard. Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is located at 714 N. Portage Path, Akron.

Rock Out With Dad at the Larchmere Porchfest
Jam out to some free live music with dad at the Larchmere Porchfest this Saturday (2-8 p.m.). Located in Cleveland's Shaker Square neighborhood, the festival showcases 30 bands on 30 stages, including artists native to the Cleveland area. For those who don't want the party to stop, check out Shaker Square restaurant after parties, where the music plays until 10 p.m.
