Quick PSA here:

Until Aug. 11, up to three children under the age of 12 may ride for free on Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) buses and trains when they are accompanied by a fare-paying adult.

The "Kids Ride Free" summer promotion is in its second year, and RTA says ridership has significantly exceeded last summer's.

"We're halfway through the second year of this summer promotion, and so far, we’ve tallied nearly 40,000 rides," said RTA CEO and GM Joe Calabrese, in a statement. "That's up 50 percent from last year."

With the savings, a family of four or six can take the train downtown for an Indians game or venture to University Circle for a day at the museums at a fraction of the special event parking costs. Additionally, parents with limited childcare options can bring their children on important errands without having to pay extra fares.
