Continuing the recent trend of Cleveland Police officers doing some dumb shit over text messages, 32-year-old Thomas Tewell has been indicted on charges that accuse him of sending a sexually explicit photograph to a 17-year-old girl from Rocky River.

According to Tuesday's court records, a grand jury presented the two-count indictment charging Tewell with a fifth-degree felony for unauthorized use of a police database and a misdemeanor count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

Tewell, 32, of Fairview Park, is set for a July 31st arraignment in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court for the incident, which was reported to Rocky River police by the girl's father back in February.

According to Cleveland.com, Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia noted in March that Tewell's supervisors in the Second District took him off patrol and placed him on restricted duty when the investigation began.

Tewell met the victim online and then used the police database LEADS to track her down. Once he did so, prosecutors say, he then sent her a sexually explicit text message.

This isn't Tewell's first time being a grade-A creep, as he was suspended for 25 days in 2014 and given a "last-chance agreement" after he sent a lewd photo to a woman after giving her a traffic ticket. According to his disciplinary letter, he also tracked the woman down on social media to ask her on a date, because there's nothing sexier than an unsolicited sext and some abuse of power on the side.
