The popular Mason's Creamery in Ohio City specializes in small batches of handmade ice cream, and now owners Helen Qin and Jesse Mason have come up with a new way to give back to the Cleveland community.

After purchasing a storage warehouse in Old Brooklyn, the 9,000-square-foot location is currently empty. Wanting to utilize this available space and add a little pep to the work week, Mason's Creamery and Scare Your Soul are hosting a Morning People Daybreak Dance Party on August 1 from 6 a.m.-8:30 a.m.

Instead of hitting the gym and fighting for your chance on the elliptical, Morning People (a volunteer-led, healthy, daybreak Cleveland dance party preceded by optional yoga) wants to start your day with a fun, communal experience. Scene is co-sponsoring this event, alongside Phoenix Coffee, Cleveland Bagel, Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club, Run Wild CLE, Soul Connect and Dance Party.

Yoga with Kat Hollo (bring your own mat) begins at 6 a.m. and the dance party kicks off at 7 a.m. Coffee and light breakfast will be provided. Admission to the event is $5 and all profits go to help provide addiction, substance abuse and mental health services through Recovery Resources.

The Mason's Creamery Old Brooklyn Warehouse is located at 3504 Stanford Ave. For more information and tickets for the event, click here.
