Andy Himmel's streak continues this week as the restaurateur opens his third BOMBA Tacos & Rum, this one in Beachwood at the corner of Cedar and Richmond (2101 Richmond Rd.) It joins the original shop in Rocky River and the two-year-old location in Fairlawn.

Over the past 10 years he's meticulously expanded his Latin-themed portfolio from one unit to nine locations and two concepts. The new east-side restaurant is near and dear to his heart though.

“I grew up in Beachwood,” Himmel told us last year. “I have been coming to this location my entire life, so the opportunity for me to build out this cool concept, to help change something that we’ve all seen for the past 30, 40 years, I think it’s pretty exciting.”

Like the BOMBA restaurants in River and Fairlawn, this one will feature Latin-themed snacks and starters, chef-driven tacos and a massive rum list set inside a smartly designed space outfitted with high-end finishes.

We’re keeping you informed…
...and it’s what we love to do. From local politics and culture to national news that hits close to home, Scene Magazine has been keeping Cleveland informed for years.

It’s never been more important to support local news sources, especially as we all deal with the ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic. Almost everything Scene is about -- our stories, our events, our advertisers -- comes down to getting together. With events on hold, and no print distribution for the foreseeable future, every little bit helps.

A free press means accountability and a well-informed public, and we want to keep our unique and independent reporting available for many, many years to come.

If quality journalism is important to you, please consider a donation to Scene. Every reader contribution is valuable and so appreciated, and goes directly to support our coverage of critical issues and neighborhood culture. Thank you.
