Print juggernauts, Jakprints, have been a source for Cleveland's printing needs (and a source of employment for hundreds) for more than a decade. Over the years, the company has expanded from building to building before settling into the current two-building operation in Midtown, in addition to the recently-opened screenprinting shop in Oceanside, California. Now, Jakprints is expanding once again, opening another manufacturing space in Eastlake.

Jakprints has served as the supplier for big name companies in the world of sports and entertainment including Fanatics, MTV, HBO, Spotify, Live Nation, Comedy Central, Threadless and Universal Studios. This increase in demand has challenged the company to expand, and allows for an opportunity to completely revitalize their printing processes.

A new location in Eastlake in what used to be an old Walmart will now serve as a single-floor open manufacturing space with plenty of natural light to give workers a better look at print jobs, as well as allow the company to move equipment for efficiency. Nearly $7 million worth of new and existing equipment will move to the Eastlake building, including direct-to-garment digital printers in addition to the mass production screen printing presses.

For an inside look at the printing processes, we featured Jakprints' Director of Screenprinting, Jeff Weisenberg as part of our People issue last month.

The goal is to have the Eastlake location operating by the holiday season, but first the company must fill more than 100 immediate job openings. Many of these positions are seasonal, but there are full-time job opportunities available to join the nearly 250 current company employees.

Jakprints is hosting open interviews this Saturday, Sept. 22, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., at 34440 Vine Street in Eastlake, the parking lot of the new Jakprints location. Interested applicants should bring two forms of official ID. For more information on the job fair, you can check out the official event page here.
