A Cleveland native who's comedian, writer and righteous rocker, Dave Hill was ahead of the curve when he launched Dave Hill’s Podcasting Incident in 2010.

The show featured interviews with guests such as Chris Elliott, Tig Notaro, Daniel Handler, Fenriz and Dick Cavett, whom Hill regularly refers to as his “best friend.” In 2014, Hill put the podcast on hiatus.

Now, Hill has revived the program, a weekly show that features conversations with “various persons of interest,” including "writers, photographers, actors, musicians, comedians, convicts, old ladies from the neighborhood, and more."

New episodes arrive every Friday at noon on iTunes.

For listeners who want to help support the project with a monetary contribution, a Patreon is now live that will offer exclusive content starting at just $1 a month.

“The fact is, I enjoy cornering people in my apartment and asking them questions for an hour straight before insisting they leave, so when my friend Chris [Gersbeck] offered to come over with some microphones and tape it, barking dog, refrigerator hum, and all, I knew it was time for Dave Hill’s Podcasting Incident to rise from the ashes like a damn phoenix or something,” says Hill in a press release announcing the podcast’s rebirth.

The new version of the podcast remains separate from Dave’s radio show, The Goddamn Dave Hill Show, a weekly call-in show that will continue to air live every Monday from 9 p.m. to midnight EST on WFMU.

Initial episodes of the podcast include interviews with portrait photographer Beowulf Sheehan, New Yorker cartoonist Emily Flake and author/storyteller Kambri Crews. Upcoming episodes will feature musician Shonali Bhowmik and Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing.

Anyone who contributes $1 a month will receive “massive thanks, everlasting love, and Dave will visit you in prison should your life ever happen to take a dark turn.”

For $5 a month, fans will have access to “exclusively exclusive extra content like videos and live episodes where listeners can call in, ask Dave anything, discuss matters of great importance, and...beyond!" Hill even says, “You will also gain entry into your local chapter of Dave’s street gang, the Dangerous Snakes Who Hate Bullshit, including your gang nickname.”

And for a mere $1,000 or more a month, Hill will come to your house or workplace and sing your choice of either “At Last” by Etta James or “Winds of Change” by the Scorpions while dressed as a historical figure of your choosing.

Hill's band, Valley Lodge, performs tonight at 8:30 at the Beachland Tavern with Falling Stars and Happy Chichester.
