Hot Sauce Williams' Own Herbert Williams Dies at 82

Cleveland barbecue legend Herbert Williams, who, along with his four brothers, lent his name and talents to the beloved Hot Sauce Williams restaurants, passed away last Wednesday at the age of 82.

While the brothers' children run the business now, Williams was the last original owner.

Hot Sauce Williams, which still has locations on 3770 Lee Rd. and 12310 Superior Ave., closed its Carnegie location last March due to retirement. 

As reported last year, Angie's Soul Cafe was poised to to take over the former spot. After some delays, the restaurant announced this week that they're moving forward with renovations:
For decades, Hot Sauce Williams has fed Polish Boys, chicken and ribs to Clevelanders and celebrities alike. Even Anthony Bourdain filmed an episode of No Reservations at the beloved establishment. See below:
