The first medical marijuana dispensary in the Cleveland area is scheduled to open Wednesday in Wickliffe.

"The Botanist," owned and operated by Greenleaf Apothecaries LLC, will open at 30133 Euclid Avenue. Facility hours will be 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday.

When all is said and done, Greenleaf will operate five dispensaries in the state. Its first location, in Canton, opened on January 16. Locations in Wickliffe, along with locations in the Akron and Columbus areas, were scheduled to open sometime during 2019's first quarter.

The Botanist's vibe will be "inspired by 19th Century laboratories, greenhouses and the study of botany," so expect shit like "weathered wood, a product showcase, a Seed Bar educational station, and more."

“We want patients to feel comfortable accessing treatment and gaining an understanding of the power and applications of cannabis by making the dispensary experience open, welcoming and informative,” said David Neundorfer, Greenleaf CEO, in a press release. “Additionally, in keeping with The Botanist’s commitment to education and a singular customer experience, we look forward to offering a rich outreach program and informational events.”

The Botanist is predicting longer than usual wait times in its opening days.
