The free Uptown Summer Series is making its return next month, when we hope the weather will at least be somewhat warmer.

The series kicks off June 1 with a mini-golf and ice cream social from noon to 5 p.m., and at the event, participants can score free ice cream from Mitchell's or Piccadilly Artisan Creamery while learning all about the upcoming events coming to Toby's Plaza this summer.

Those include outdoor fitness classes and recess games as part of Shape Up Sundays (beginning June 9), as well as a live lunchtime concert series, which starts June 12 and runs every Wednesday.

The live music schedule is as follows:
June 12: Jul Big Green
June 19: The Major Minors (The School of Rock)
June 26: Jen & Anthony
July 10: Luca Mundaca
July 17: Opus 216
July 24: Mourning [A] BLKstar
July 31: Ray Flanagan Band
August 7: M. Moody
August 14: Thor Platter Band
August 21: Shawn & Shelby
August 28: Chris Burge Trio
September 4: Tom Evanchuck
September 11: Gretchen Pleuss Trio

All programming comes to an end in mid-September. Check out the full schedule at universitycircle.org/uptown.
