Following in the footsteps of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, the westside suburb of Lakewood is now considering adding shared electric scooters and bicycles onto its city streets. But first, city officials want resident feedback.

Officials recently unleashed a survey on the city website, designed to assess how people would use the dockless devices if the city were to implement the ride sharing services. The survey is going to be up through the end of the month and can be found right here.

“With the survey we’re trying to get a feel for priorities and concerns from the residents," Lakewood City Planner David Baas told Cleveland.com. "Should a system be implemented in Lakewood, we need something to go off of when having discussions with the county and with vendors.”

If all goes to plan, resident feedback is positive and traffic laws are updated efficiently, Lakewood could have the shared vehicles by next year.

Shaker Heights, University Heights and Cleveland Heights are also considering adding electric scooters to their suburban streets.
