Registering to Vote is Probably The Best Thing You'll Do Today in Cleveland

Today is National Voter Registration Day, which means that anyone 18 or older and who is legally able should make sure they are signed up to vote. Because it may seem simple, but if you're not registered, then you can't vote.

Yes, registering to vote does take a few minutes, and can seem like it takes away from other fun activities, but it can truly be a pretty painless process.

First, it's important, especially here in Ohio where thousands have recently been purged from the voter rolls, that you confirm your status as a registered voter. If you're no longer registered you now have more than a few options.

Cuyahoga County is getting into the action today with a whole slew of voting registration opportunities. Find the whole list of places, including all Cleveland Public Libraries, various apartment buildings, high schools and colleges, right here.

Or, easier for some, you can register and even update your address online at the Cuyahoga County website.

The deadline for eligibility to vote in the upcoming November election is Oct. 7.

We’re keeping you informed…
...and it’s what we love to do. From local politics and culture to national news that hits close to home, Scene Magazine has been keeping Cleveland informed for years.

It’s never been more important to support local news sources, especially as we all deal with the ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic. Almost everything Scene is about -- our stories, our events, our advertisers -- comes down to getting together. With events on hold, and no print distribution for the foreseeable future, every little bit helps.

A free press means accountability and a well-informed public, and we want to keep our unique and independent reporting available for many, many years to come.

If quality journalism is important to you, please consider a donation to Scene. Every reader contribution is valuable and so appreciated, and goes directly to support our coverage of critical issues and neighborhood culture. Thank you.
