Thousands of Cleveland extras are needed to fill the cinematic streets of two films this season.

Casting directors are searching for people of all backgrounds who are available for filming in and around Cleveland between mid-October to mid-December.

The first movie, Cherry, is being directed by Cleveland's own Russo brothers, famous for The Avengers and Captain America films. The duo bought the rights to the novel of the same name last year.

Originally written by Cleveland native Nico Walker, Cherry is inspired by his personal experiences as an army vet who develops an opiate addiction to cope with his PTSD. After he runs out of money to buy drugs, he starts robbing banks. (Read Scene's interview with Walker here.)

Tom Holland of the reboot Spiderman franchise stars in this film, which shoots today through Dec. 10.

The second movie is an untitled project directed by indie filmmaker Shaka King and based on the story of Fred Hampton, the 1960s leader of Chicago’s Black Panther Party and Rainbow Coalition. It shoots from Oct. 21-Dec. 18.

Each extra is guaranteed a full day (eight hours) of work for each day they’re on set and will be paid between $9 and $13 an hour.
