Bedrock Cleveland Launches Battle of the Bands Competition

Since its founding in 2011, Bedrock and its affiliates have invested and committed more than $5.6 billion to acquirie and develope more than 100 properties in Detroit and Cleveland, including developments at the Hudson’s Site, the Book Tower restoration, City Modern and the May Company Building.

Now, the company is getting into the battle of the bands business with Battle of the Land, a live musical talent competition series that kicks off next month. Artists will compete in a series of head-to-head musical battles at Tower City Center, and the winner will open for local heroes Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on Oct. 28.



“Cleveland is synonymous with music, and marquee events like the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Concert and Battle of the Land are exactly the type of excitement and energy that we are bringing to Tower City Center,” says Kofi Bonner, Bedrock CEO, in a press release. “We know that Clevelanders have many fond memories from their time at Tower City Center and with the destination marketplace set to become a hub for interactive experiences, we’re excited to once again provide a venue for future memories.”

“Battle of the Land invites aspiring musicians of all types, genres and sounds to share their talent during a live, four-part competition series,” reads a press release about the event.

Each of the 16 finalists will receive a $250 gift card (or substitute prize of equivalent value). Applications must be submitted by midnight, Sept. 5, and artists must send video submissions via BattleoftheLand.com. All applicants must be 18 or older and available to appear in person at Cleveland’s Tower City Center to compete on September 30, October 7, October 14, October 21, October 27 and October 28. The competitions will be open to the public.
 
The free concert featuring Bone Thugs will take place in Skylight Concourse at Tower City Center. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and entry will be available on a first come, first served basis for those 18 years of age and above. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All attendees will be required to wear masks throughout the duration of Tower City Center events and follow all federal, state, and local health department regulations and guidelines.
