The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus
    When: Thu., Oct. 20
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus dates back decades, but the circus still strives to regularly reinvent itself. This year’s incarnation will feature thrill skaters in addition to acrobats, animals and clowns. The “immersive atmosphere: created by lighting technology and video projection will combine with a “thrilling storyline.” Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson and “Circus Star Seeker” Paulo battle evil forces such as the Intergalactic Circus Queen Tatiana. The technology in this year's incarnation, Out Of This World, provides a multisensory experience, and video screen production enhancements deepen the connection between the audience, the performances and the performers’ journey through space. Projection technology transports fans to far-off planets throughout the galaxy and transforms the arena into a swirling space-scape. The circus performs at 7 tonight at the Q, where shows are scheduled through Sunday. Tickets start at $20.

Kanye West: The Saint Pablo Tour When: Sat., Oct. 1, 8 p.m. Price: $29.50-$129.50 Rapper/producer Kanye West first emerged onto the scene in 2001 as one the producers on Jay Z's seminal album, The Blueprint. In 2004, West released his first album, The College Dropout and its success was fueled by the singles "Jesus Walks," "All Falls Down" and "Slow Jamz." Albums Late Registration, Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Yeezus and The Life of Pablo followed and West has become one of the most respected artists in the industry. West has often courted controversy as his calling out of President George Bush during a Hurricane Katrina benefit and interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards both made international headlines. West is also a fashion designer and has collaborated with Nike and Louis Vuitton in the past. An elaborate production, West's Saint Pablo tour features a floating stage that hovers above the audience and moves during the concert. If nothing else, West is a master showman with a flair for the unexpected and anything can happen at any given moment during one of his sets. We'd expect nothing less.

Herb N' Twine
    4309 Lorain Ave., Cleveland

Herb n' Twine's foray into the fried chicken sandwich game stands out as the only one in the city that doesn't make you feel like you have been battered and deep fried yourself. Herb n' Twine glazes strips of fried chicken breast in a sweet honey garlic sauce and wedges them between their house made french bread, making for a subtle interplay of crisp and crunch set off by a punchy slaw.

Cleveland Garlic Festival
    When: Sat., Aug. 27
Northeast Ohio is prime garlic-growing territory, so it makes perfect sense to honor the stinking rose with its very own festival. A fundraiser for the North Union Farmers’ Markets, the Cleveland Garlic Festival features music, wine and beer vendors, food competitions, top chef grill-offs, and countless vendors peddling garlic-scented foods. The festival also rounds up many of the region’s best garlic growers, making the fest the best place for wannabe garlic growers to purchase this year’s planting stock. The event takes place today from noon to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from noon to 6 p.m. at Shaker Square. Admission is $9. clevelandgarlicfestival.org.
