If you haven't had a chance yet this summer to catch the Cleveland Flea, the local small business and vintage goods pop-up wonderland, head over to 3615 Superior Ave. next month on Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. As usual, the Flea brings trendy merchandise and tasty eats to Tyler Village for all the antique-lovin’ and cool-find seekin’ northeast Ohioans.
Founded in 2013, the Flea has become a well-known event that sets up stands once a month and becomes home to over 140 vendors for the day, hailing in about 35,000 local customers. With merchants selling everything from vintage goods like clothing, furniture, jewelry, home décor and more, this tiny business incubator has allowed the city’s local creatives to showcase their unique products to the city of Cleveland.
Among familiar vendors, there will be some new faces this time around, here are a few to check out:
Health & Beauty - Una Biologicals: Hand crafted organic beauty and wellness products like all natural bath scrubs, facial cleansers, masks, tea, lotions, balms and oils will have you feeling natural and refreshed.
Home Goods - Clear Blur Design & 1820 House of Candles: Clear Blur Designs is known for their unique pottery pieces with original works of art on each mug, plate, spoon, etc. House of Candles is a local small business crafting green hand-poured scented candles made from pure vegetable wax.
Jewelry - Hook & Pattern: For dainty handmade pieces like earrings, necklaces, bracelets and more, stop by this tent and grab one of a kind accessories.
Modern and Vintage Clothing - Object Apparel & Bolted Vintage: For today's styles, Object Apparel offers handmade designed and screen printed tees, tanks, neckties, kids and more. If your style is more old fashioned, Bolted Vintage is the tent to take a look at with everything from vintage dresses from the 1950s, to jewelry from the 30s and more.
As usual, the event also has great food, drink, and music for attendees to enjoy. This month, booze slushies are the popular feature alongside their general bar menu. Musical performances will include Fake Species at noon and Green Escalators at 2 p.m. at Mahall's Stage.
The Flea also features a smaller scale event, Sunday Market, that stages about 60 vendors. Sunday Market will take place in the Hingetown neighborhood on Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., hoping to bring attention to this newer westside neighborhood. Known for its “oysters and antiques theme,” this event encourages shoppers to look around while they sip on drinks from the Champagne garden and slurp down seafood.
