Seems as if everybody and their sister-in-law with a color printer are churning out their own cards now, but those postmodern attempts usually come off as either trite or trying-too-hard. Tremont graphic designer Lorelei Minton's cards, however, are visually exciting yet succinct. It's amazing what can be done with nice paper, unique clip art, and a good eye. A collage of images of old-fashioned movie projectors playfully fills the front of one all-occasion card. There's a similar version with coffee cups. Some of the cards are hand-painted -- a popular birthday design simply features tiny brushstrokes transformed into candles. Make a wish -- for more card designs from Minton.
