Can you pick out the undercover cop?

Ohio’s look-but-don’t-touch strip club policy is a head-scratcher, especially with every Recession-soaked city trying to redefine itself as a convention destination (Someone needs to tell the Med Mart people that Dr. Everyman isn’t going to come to Cleveland and test drive a handsaw if he can’t motorboat on the side. Come on, Jimmy Dimora knew that much). The punctilious law results in frequent club raids, police time and money that usually goes toward a few arrests for innocent (but yes, illegal) bump-and-grinding.

But sometimes police fish out more serious criminal activity. Such was the case at Desiree’s in Norton, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Local cops, Akron vice detectives and people from the Ohio Department of Public Safety all raided the club last Friday night as the party was starting.

  1. What? Sexual activity going on in the VIP rooms of strip clubs everywhere? Gee and I thought that all that went on in those rooms was some good clean fun. How dumb do you have to be to realize that strip joints are nothing but modern day whorehouses. Nothing good comes from them–they should all be shut down . It’s a waste of tax dollars with regard to law enforcement to arrest the club owners and whores not to mention the expense of their trials and incarceration.

  2. As someone who has tried thier hand at swinging around a pole, i have to disagree with the previous comment. yes, scandalous things can happen, it’s a sexually charged industry that does sometimes allow for things to go a little too far. generally tho those kind of things aren’t going on. there arre rules, regulations, floor guys, and managers to make sure everything stays fairly legal. in a bodunk towne where girls are working in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, in an understaffed club where the managers doln’t care what happens so long as they are making a buck (they make thier money off these girls) they will happily turn a blind eye to the nasty goings-on. not every place is like that, and as far as the drugs go, there probably people you work with at the bank, or the cubicle across from you hiding a bag of something or another in thier desk.

  3. GH1…go back to church and leave the strip clubs alone…if two consenting adults agree to sex in exchange for money then fine. All prostitution should be legalized and taxed and guess what….cops no longer have to care, but I’m sure that would offend your God in some way. Your morality isnt mine and should not be accepted as law. o btw USMC 0341 2003-2007 3’25 Put up for STFU

  4. Well said Bruno! A man who hires a prostitute doesn’t truly pay for the sex, he pays for her to leave afterward.

  5. better for her AND him to use a place such as this rather than the girl on the street. those are your women they find beaten, battered, HIV+ and often dead. and they can also be your mother, sister, daughter or old schoolfriend. thanks Bruno for telling it like it is.

  6. Yeah Carole, you’re so on the money…because the whores in the clubs are never owned by pimps or followed out to their cars by johns….and God knows that they are exempt from getting (or spreading) HIV. The location whether its the streets or whorehouses and strip clubs is irrelevant–all people in or patronizing those in the sex trades are fair game for disease. (please notes sarcasm)
Bruno: sad that you can’t find a healthy relationship with a good woman and that strippers are the best you can get. And strippers are SO into you guys, it’s not like they’re just after your money or anything…no they REALLY dig you!

  7. cops and investigator just wanted to use our tax dollars to get free lap dances(and then some), but when they don’t get what they want, well, you know the rest…
