“We always wanted to do a legit, authentic Irish pub,” says Brendan Kearney. “Our families are off-the-boat from Ireland, and we really wanted to represent what we see over there, the people that we meet.”
“When I came here Amazonia was viewed as a pizza shop that served cocktails,” new co-owner Juan Sebastian Albornoz Ramirez says. “Now we are a cocktail bar with food as opposed to a restaurant with great cocktails.”
“It’s an entirely different design. Tremont was basically our proof of concept. We plan on opening additional locations and the goal is for every new location to look like Lakewood or a variation of it.”
“We always felt that when pizza left the Market Hall, the dynamic of the hall changed, and we felt there was an opportunity to bring that back,” says Van Aken District rep Jesse Rathner.
“We want to make sure that everyone who is coming to the street – and everybody who is a part of the street already – is being included,” says Martin Millonzi.
“We are an urban winery, so we are serving wines that are made right here in Cleveland, but we bring in grapes from areas and wineries from across the United States,” Papafil explains.
“I wanted people to walk into the restaurant and immediately be immersed in sights and sounds and smells and activity,” says Matt Fish. “I didn’t want it to be a boring space.”
