Structural improvements to Lakewood Park – focusing mostly on the promenade – have been discussed for a few years now. Last week, the city quietly posted an interesting video rendering from Environmental Design Group that shows what a revitalized Lakewood Park might look like.

The Akron-based design firm also published a .pdf elaborating visually on some of the proposals.

If you’re into lakeside walks and sunset-watching, you’re going to be a super jazzed about this.

Here’s the video (tip o’ the hat to @lkwdcitizen for tweeting the link):

  1. Lakewood Park is a real treasure for the city — and region. The video is incredibly impressive and shows a nearly unlimited potential for the area.

  2. That would be absolutely awesome! The more seating there is to watch sunsets and stuff…the better! I love it!
