Apple Jax Toys 13302 Madison Ave., Lakewood and 24 N. Main St., Chagrin Falls With two locations in Lakewood and Chagrin Falls, Apple Jax Toys has taken over the vintage toy gap that was opened when beloved Big Fun closed after 27 years in business. Carol and John’s Comic Shop 17462 Lorain Ave., Cleveland The first thing you’ll notice about Carol & John’s at Kamm’s Corners is how meticulously organized everything is. Cool World 6511 Detroit Ave., Cleveland In Gordon Square, this shop opened in 2021 and has quickly become one of the coolest stores in town. Local artist Haley Himiko Hudson Morris is behind this shop/art piece that specializes in vintage jewelry, notebooks and journals, clothing, party decor, home decor and more. Coven 1384 Bonnieview Ave., Lakewood Coven is the spot for all of your witch needs. Coven is a beautiful shop that provides magical provisions for the modern feminist witch. Emily Roggenburk 25 Main St., Westlake and 3441 Tuttle Rd., Shaker Heights Emily Roggenburk started her design and apparel company when she decided to rent a helicopter to snap awesome photos of the 2016 NBA Championship parade. Legend Headwear 3111 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland In 1984, Graffiti was founded and today manufactures over 10,000 baseball hats per week as a private label manufacturer. Jacob Miller, the son of the founders, expanded on that business by starting Legend Headwear in 2017 and Legend has since taken off, finding a niche with high quality hats and awesome designs. Browse a Local Bookstore We really have a great selection of local bookstores all over Northeast Ohio and everything will sound that much better when high. Visible Voice in Tremont, Appletree Books and Mac’s Backs in Cleveland Heights, Horizontal Books and Zubal Books in Ohio City, Loganberry Books in Shaker Heights, Learned Owl in Hudson, Fireside Books in Chagrin Falls and the Bookshop in Lakewood are all worthy of a trip. My Mind’s Eye 16010 Detroit Ave., Lakewood There are a ton of great record stores in Cleveland but for best selection, My Mind’s Eye in Lakewood takes the crown. Oceanne 6519 Detroit Ave., Cleveland Originally from France, designer Anne Harrill moved to Cleveland in 2002 and later began designing jewelry, which “merges both the maker utility of the rustbelt and the enduring beauty of French design.” All Océanne jewelry is crafted in a studio downtown, and Harrill’s collections are made of sleek, minimalistic pieces.
