Up-and-comer Priscilla Block played Akron’s Lock 3 venue on a chilly Thursday evening, bringing some Country/Pop tunes to the Rubber City. Hailing from North Carolina, Ms. Block moved to Nashville after high school and caught the attention of music execs with a fervent online presence. Her single, “Just About Over You” gained traction on TikTok during the COVID era, leading to a record deal. T-shirts and baseball caps adorned with her slogan “Sass and Ass” peppered the crowd, who responded to her relatable odes to breakups and everyday life.
Weather played a part in last night’s show; skies were grey and foreboding until about fifteen minutes before she took the stage. The sun finally pierced through the clouds, illuminating the smallish crowd that had gathered on the hill above the pavilion.
