What to do with a man who robs a video store with a cologne bottle?

I am very disappointed in a Denise Grollmus articles — here’s the first, here’s the second — pertaining to Michael Kaminski. She did not report as accurately as I would have imagined a “crime fighter” reporter to do. She appears to have a hidden agenda here and we would like to know what it is. Please advise. Thank you.

Editor’s note: Denise’s agenda — if you could call it that — isn’t exactly hidden. Call it a difference in perspective between rocker world and the rest of the world. Seeing as how we have a pretty significant crime problem in these parts, you might say people are sick of it. So when you try to rob a video store — and a clerk just trying to do his job — you’re probably not getting much sympathy. For most people, the dope addict excuse stopped working around 1962.
As for suing the guy from the neighboring store who kicked the shit out of Kaminski: That dog don’t hunt. Take this before any jury between Pittsburgh and the Mississippi River, and they’re not just finding the guy innocent — they’re giving him a plaque and taking him to Red Lobster. He’s the guy everyone wants around when something like this happens.
But who cares what we think? Let’s go to a higher authority, our readers: What does everyone else think?

  1. Seriously, if there is that much interest here, let me know and I will forward the letter from Michael Kaminski to Denise. I posted this twice. As for giving “that guy” a plaque and taking him to Red Lobster for his “heroic efforts”, I may be a bit biased since Michael is my brother but there is such a thing as brutality. I don’t think the debate here is really whether Michael deserved to get his ass beat or that the guy who did it was justified. It’s more a matter of there being more to the story than simply branding someone a moron or the so called perks of being an addict. Again, I have a letter from Michael but Scene doesn’t seem to be interested in that, it’s much more professional to keep fueling this fire.

  2. Just a minute here editor, I believe you are quite wrong when it comes to filing a civil suit against those guys. I realize you know them but that is no excuse for giving them a pass for what they did. They could have held Mike down and phoned the police but they instead beat him to a pulp. You find that funny and rewarding, if so, you are as warped as they are. As for juries, that ole tide is a turning and soon you will see. Those medical providers will need to be paid by someone and those who caused all this damage to Michael should be the rightful recipients. Did Mike deserve to be arrested? Yes, absolutely, did he deserve to be beaten beyond belief, the answer is no and those who did so need to be held accountable in a court of law. As for 1962, you were not even born then, how the hell would you know what the world was like then? Yes, Denise does have a hidden agenda, she is friends with those dopes at the video/tanning/tattoo store and is supporting them for what they did. I found no humor in her remarks only blatant evidence of an unprofessional and biased reported.
