Tomorrow, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum launches Paul Simon: Words & Music, a new exhibit chronicling the career of the two-time Hall of Fame inductee. A recorded narration provided by Simon himself will anchor the exhibit, which will include videos of select performances and a collection of more than 80 artifacts relating to both his solo career and Simon & Garfunkel.
“When Mr. Simon visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a tour last year, our idea to honor him with an exhibit was ignited and the process of creating this exciting new exhibition began,” says Greg Harris, CEO and president of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a press release announcing the new exhibit. Museum curators worked for more than eight months to create the exhibit, which will include the 1967 Guild F-30-NT-Spec Simon used to write and record most of Simon & Garfunkel’s music and personal summer-camp correspondence between a teenage Paul Simon and his friend Art Garfunkel. The exhibit also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Simon’s musical career — he and Art Garfunkel released their first album on October 19, 1964.
