Blues icon Howlin’ Wolf famously covered “Wang Dang Doodle,” the old blues tune penned by Willie Dixon. Now, Prosperity Social Club in Tremont has adopted that slogan, calling its new wing night Wing Ding Doodle. Beginning Feb. 15, the Tremont pub will host the weekly event that features specials on Buffalo wings and cold brews.

“Not only are we serving up substantial, one-dollar whole wings, but we’re also offering meatless Monday ‘wing’ baskets for our vegan friends,” explains Prosperity Social Club owner Bonnie Flinner in a press release.

Discounted drafts and a specially curated playlist of vintage-electric blues and soulful R&B curated by local musician Clint Holley will be on tap as well. Wing Ding Doodle will take place every Monday from 6 to 12 p.m.

“Just like the song says,” says Flinner. “We’re going to ‘romp and tromp till midnight.’”
