Singer-guitarist Peter Frampton will “come alive” one last time. Earlier today, he announced the dates of Peter Frampton Finale — The Farewell Tour. The tour will feature special guest Jason Bonham, and additional surprise guests will appear on select dates.

The tour comes to Blossom on Aug. 8.

Frampton, who started his career at age 16, just celebrated the 43rd anniversary of his fifth solo album, Frampton Comes Alive!, one of the top-selling live records of all time, and his session work includes collaborations with acts such as George Harrison, Harry Nilsson, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, John Entwistle, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam).

Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase pre-sale tickets beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, and tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 1. VIP packages will also be available at frampton.com.

Jeff has been covering the Cleveland music scene for more than 25 years now. On a regular basis, he tries to talk to whatever big acts are coming through town. And if you're in a local band that he needs to hear, email him at jniesel@clevescene.com.

One reply on “Peter Frampton’s Farewell Tour Coming to Blossom in August”

  1. There is probably soundboard audio languishing in the back of a dusty vault of Peter Frampton’s gig at Byers Field. Once “Frampton Comes Alive!” became a massive hit, there were probably enough people claiming to have attended the show that Cleveland Stadium would have been sold out.
