Organizers for the annual On the Edge Film Festival, which shows “adventuresome films,” have announced that this year’s festival will take place on Friday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Breen Center for the Performing Arts in Ohio City.

Local filmmakers are encouraged to submit “exciting ‘edge of your seat’ adrenaline movies, enlightening world culture films, adventure stories that depict travels or personal journeys and films on all aspects of the environment, including nature and sustainability.”

Categories include extreme sport, adventure, world culture and environment as features, shorts, short shorts or animations. Local filmmakers receive a special discount.  The early bird submission deadline is May 9; the official submission deadline is June 30 and the late submission deadline is July 31 .
