This year’s sale includes a giant rock ’n’ roll collection featuring biographies (solo performers and groups), song books, CDs, memorabilia. Most items are in excellent condition with some are still in their original shrink-wrap. The anonymously donated collection stretches from the late 1960s though the mid-’00s. According to the official press release announcing the sale, most of the items are priced to “get them into the hands of readers who are looking for literary works, tell-all biographies, Civil War histories, urban fantasies, cookbooks (hundreds!), how-tos and/or the ‘hard’ and natural sciences.”
As in the past, the sale will be held at Case Western Reserve University’s Adelbert Gymnasium (2128 Adelbert Road). Free parking will be available near the gym. The sale begins on Saturday, May 21, and runs through Tuesday, May 24. It’s free and open to the public, except for the pre-sale preview that runs from 10 a.m. to noon on May 21 and costs $20. On May 24, a special $5 box day, doors are open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“On Box Day, you can bring any size box you want, but,” says volunteer Tom Neuman in a press release, “keep in mind that you’re the one who’s going to be carrying it out when it’s full.”
