On Saturday at the Beachland Tavern, the local rock act Who Saved Who will play a show to celebrate the release of its new EP, All You Thought You Could Do. The EP was recorded with new members Paul Perrotti on bass guitar and Jonah Rigby on drums. Steve Perrino, who did their previous singles “Words Take Shape,” “Pictures Have Sound” and “Weight of Everything,” produced the album, which was recorded over a one-year period.

The first single, the catchy “Every Waking Passing Moment,” includes a music video depicting the band’s lead singer chasing down his bananas for his banana bread.

AYTYCD is a break from tradition for the band as well as playing into familiar knacks,” reads a press release. “The sharp lyricism painted with grief and longing is ever present, as is a new found joy born from that sorrow.”

Closing song “You Won’t, But You Might” features a Jimmy Eat World-esque chorus and lyrics about achieving dreams in a “rotting world.”

“Whether or not you find hope in this is up to you,” reads the press release. “Who Saved Who isn’t interested in giving easy answers to how we should think and feel about anything. They can acknowledge the depths of despair we all feel as well as the joy in every day life, to them, both are necessary.”

The concert starts at 8 p.m., and locals Tall Grass and Tessas will open the show.
