Inflation is real, and long gone are the days of 25-cent wing specials, even in Cleveland. The good news? If you know where to look, there are still plenty of clucking great deals to be found all throughout the city and well into the ‘burbs. We’ve rounded up 21 of our favorite Wing Nights (and in some cases, wing lunches and brunches) to help you decide where to get your next finger-lickin’ fix.
Around the Corner Saloon and Cafe
Wings for brunch? Yes, please. This Lakewood dive offers 69-cent wings each Sunday starting at 12pm. The same special runs on Tuesday night, when you can also snag $9 pitchers of Coors Light to wash them down. Black pepper wings are their signature, but if that’s not your style, choose from 13 other sauce and dry rub options, too, like Dijon Honey Mustard, Garlic Parmesan and Thai Blay-Zing. (This deal isn’t applicable on holidays like St. Patrick’s Day and Mardi Gras.) 18616 Detroit Avenue Lakewood, 216-521-4413, atccafe.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoBlue Heron Brewpub
Located in a former golf course clubhouse, this 10-barrel brewery offers the perfect mashup of Cleveland grit in a country club-style space. Every Sunday, go HAM on all-you-can-eat chicken wings for $18, served with hand-cut fries and your choice of five sauces. Want to block out the cold Cleveland weather? Mentally transport yourself to a summery day sitting seaside in the Mid-Atlantic by ordering your wings with the Old Bay dry rub; Blue Heron is one of the few spots in the Cleveland area to give the classic Maryland spice mix its due. 3227 Blue Heron Trace, Medina, 330-870-2583, blueheronmedina.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoBrewDog
This all-you-can-eat wing special isn’t the kind you can check out on a whim. BrewDog’s Wing Wednesday requires 24-hour advance online reservations, so round up some friends, snag your spot and get ready to chow down. It’ll cost you $15 for free rein to house as many buttermilk chicken wings as you possibly can, sauced with either spicy buffalo, Korean BBQ or honey adobo sauces. Even vegetarians can get in on the fun, with all-you-can-eat cauliflower wings that will let meat-free folks blend right in with the carnivorous crew. 1956 Carter Rd., 216- 367-2494, brewdog.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoDanny’s On Professor
This itty-bitty basement bar boasts, “Our kitchen goes as hard as you do,” and it’s a claim that’s hard to argue with, given that said kitchen is open until 2:00 a.m. On Wednesday nights, grab half a dozen wings for $6 in flavors like hot creamy parm (no, seriously, there’s a lot of parm on there) and sweet, umami teriyaki with sesame seeds and green onions. This is Tremont, after all, so pair it with a beer-and-a-shot combo, or get a little fancier with craft cocktails like the Gin and Bubs or a Midori mule with a twist. 2258 Professor Ave., dannysonprofessor.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoThe Draft House Saloon
Ten bucks and an empty stomach will go a long way on Wing Wednesdays, where you can score 10 regular or smoked wings for just $7.50 (dine-in only, no boxes). This classic Cleveland sports bar has 15 beers on draft and 15 wing flavors to choose from — classic, reliable options like sweet or spicy barbecue, creamy buffalo ranch and zippy mango habanero. Keep your eyes peeled for the surprise specials, too, like 50-cent wings during occasional Browns, Buckeyes or Guardians games. 1149 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, 330-741-3685, facebook.com/thedrafthousesaloon Credit: Courtesy PhotoFat Head’s
Beer and wings are a classic combo, and this Cleveland brewery has perfected the art of the duo. On Classic Wing Wednesday, get five fried wings for $9 or 10 for $14. With five types of barbecue sauce, two types of buffalo sauce and a few others to choose from, you’ve got plenty of options — but may we recommend the Carolina Maple Bourbon BBQ? Watch, too, for the occasional special on their jumbo smokehouse wings, each one so big that it’s more like two. 17450 Engle Lake Dr., Middleburg Heights, 216-898-0242, and 24581 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 440-801-1001, fatheads.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoFive Iron Golf
Whether you’re a gung-ho golfer or just in it for the vibe, swing by this indoor golf simulator bar Monday through Friday for a happy hour deal that will have you feeling like you just hit a hole one. From 3-6 p.m., enjoy bottomless wings for a mere $5, along with $5 draft beers and $5 shots — yes, really. Don’t want to practice your putt while you put away your body weight in wings? Turn your attention to more traditional bar pursuits like shuffleboard, pool and foosball, or just chill at the bar and take in the sporty scene around you. 1101 Euclid Ave, 800-513-5153, fiveirongolf.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoFlat Iron Cafe
This Irish pub is so dedicated to wings that it’s built a brand around its own eponymous sauce, a spicy, garlic-infused barbecue blend known as “Iron sauce.” In the past, it didn’t formally appear on Flat Iron’s menu until; customers had to ask for it by name. These days, though, you can buy a bottle to take home — or just ask for it on your 75-cent Wednesday night wings. Though it’s the most popular of the bar’s 12 staple sauces and dry rubs, inventive specials have also included such hits as gochujang, Tropic Thunder and a grape jelly/garlic barbecue sauce dubbed Purple Haze. 1114 Center Street, 216-696-6968, flatironcafe.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoFrank & Tony’s
Every Wednesday, this self-proclaimed “five-star dive bar” offers a deal that will fill you up without breaking the bank: 50-cent boneless wings and 32-oz. pours of Miller and Coors for $4.50. Want the bone-in variety? They’ve got those, too, but they’re not on special, so “Fat’s Famous Crispy Wings,” as they’re known, will put a bigger dent in your wallet. Either way, choose from eight sauces and kick back in this friendly East Side dive. 38107 2nd St, Willoughby, 440-602-9780 Credit: Courtesy PhotoGunselman’s Tavern
This 90-year-old Fairview Park public house specializes in comfort food, and nothing says comfort like a basket full of expertly sauced wings. On Wednesday night, Gunselman’s super-crispy jumbo wings are six for $8. Though they offer 12 flavors, two reign supreme. Their Buffalo sauce, introduced in 1984, is extra-creamy thanks to an ingredient not usually found in the classic condiment: melted butter! And the newer but equally popular Alabama white sauce blends mayo, apple cider vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire and six other spices and seasonings. It’s safe to say they take wings pretty seriously. 21490 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, 440-331-5719, gunselmans.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoKnuckleheads
There aren’t many places where you can order wings at 1:30 in the morning, but this Parma spot, a Worldwide Browns Backers bar, is one of them. Every weekend, celebrate Sunday Funday while watching the Dawgs and digging into 75-cent wings. Knuckleheads also bucks the traditional trend of requiring diners to stick to one sauce, instead allowing you to mix and match (within reason) to find your perfect flavor. Most of their options are recognizable classics, but there are a few wildcards in the mix, like the nondescript Cattlemen’s and Burly. Ask your server, or take a leap of faith. 2115 Brookpark Rd, 216-398-3456, facebook.com/p/Knuckleheads-Bar-Grill Credit: Courtesy PhotoMama Joyce’s Soul Food
Mama’s got everything you need to feed your soul and your belly. Though this fast-casual spot is best known for its Southern-style catfish, don’t sleep on Wing Wednesdays, when wings are $1 all day long. They’re Wing Ding-style, meaning they’re breaded and fried, with a dozen sauces ranging from spicy to sweet. This sleeper spot also offers two very important features that most Wing Nights don’t: takeout and delivery. Eat on-site, or load up on sides like mac and cheese, collard greens and dirty rice, and enjoy your feast from the comfort of your own home. 2238 Lee Rd., Cleveland Hts. 44118, instagram.com/mamajoyces_soulfood Credit: Courtesy PhotoRush Inn
Go big and go home happy on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at both Rush Inn locations, where Wing Night delivers jumbo wings for $1.00 apiece or boneless wings for 75 cents each; must order in quantities of five. Get ‘em “clothed or naked” (their words, not ours!) — though with 20 sauces and dry rubs to tempt you, you might as well go clothed. Want something more out-there than your usual wing sauce? Something you won’t find anywhere else is the Fat Boy Sauce, an unholy but ingenious mashup of barbecue sauce and nacho cheese. Sweet, savory and slightly tangy, it’s truly a gluttonous wonder to behold. 17800 Detroit Ave., 216-221-3224, therushinn.com Credit: Photo by @amandaharnoczSauced Taproom & Kitchen
The key to a good wing is right there in the name! This eclectic eatery goes with a rotating cast of options like Dr. Pepper BBQ, bang bang, “hott” honey and T-Rex sauce (think sriracha aioli with a taste of teriyaki). Their pride and joy, though, is a lemon pepper chimichurri sauce that looks just as appealing as it tastes, with a bright, herbaceous and slightly tangy flavor profile. For another unique take, try the “cereal crust” wings, rolled in crushed-up Cap’n Crunch. Usually $8.50 for five, on Monday nights wings are a steal at just $5 — and most draft beers are, too. 14701 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, 216-303-9213, saucedtaproom.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoSaucy Brew Works
Ohio City’s charmingly offbeat brewpub offers some of the most creatively named wing flavors in town, from Buffy Summers (“a little fire to go with all that garlic”) to Rub Some Dirt On It, Kid (house-roasted coffee, cocoa and ghost chilies). Feeling even more adventurous? The Cayenne-based Nashville Hot is made with a dab of dill pickle, and the Saucy Ghost is a no-holds-barred ghost pepper blend that requires immediate assistance from an ice-cold brew. On Wing Wednesdays, BOGO 1/2 dozen wings all day, dine-in only. 2885 Detroit Ave, 216-666-2568, saucybrewworks.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoSuds Maguires Bar and Grill
There are plenty of things to do at this Berea sports bar: playing skeeball, NBA Hoops and Keno; watching the big game (any and all of them) on multiple large-screen TVs; and, of course, stuffing your face with wings every Thursday night — on the cheap. Boneless wings are 50 cents and traditional wings are 75 cents, so long as you also order a beverage. You certainly could get a beer, but you could also pick from one of Suds Maguire’s 27 whiskey and bourbon offerings. It’s been a hard week, right? You deserve it. 1270 W Bagley Rd., Berea, 440-973-4243, sudsmaguires.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoThe Swinging Door
Start your week strong with Monday Wing Nights at this friendly neighborhood dive, offering 75-cent traditional wings or 50-cent boneless wings by the dozen (dine-in only). Eleven flavor options include dry Cajun, wet Cajun and “extreme heat,” but there are some milder choices in the mix, too — plus, as a nice bonus, all Great Lakes beers are $1.50 off. You can keep drinking until the bar closes at 2:30 a.m., but be sure to get your wing fix before the kitchen closes at 11 p.m. 20130 Center Ridge Rd. #3500, Rocky River, 216-801-4800, swingingdoorlounge.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoWestern Reserve Distillers
Wing Night gets a classy upgrade at this all-organic, family-owned craft distillery (one of only a handful of distilleries in Northeast Ohio), where every Wednesday night is Whiskey, Wine and Wings Night. From 4:30-10:30 p.m., tap into one or all three specials: 50-cent wings, $12 whiskey flights and 50% off full bottles of wine. Now that’s a party. But the wings aren’t on the menu any other night of the week, so if you want ‘em, this recurring special is the only way to get ‘em. Pro-tip: Make an early reservation to guarantee you won’t miss out. 14221 Madison Ave, Lakewood, 216-333-9291, thedistilleryatwrd.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoWhitey’s Booze ‘n’ Burgers
In business since 1953, this classic, dimly lit spot is known for its chili and burgers. But on Sundays and Mondays, Whitey’s shines a spotlight on its wings, which are just 77 cents apiece and served with not one but two of your choice of sauces. You could stick to soda or beer to drink, but if you want to have a little fun (while still safeguarding your hard-earned dollars, of course), you might care to know that Sunday’s drink special is $5 Bloody Marys and Monday’s is $5 margaritas. An important caveat: Cash only! 3600 Brecksville Rd., Richfield, 330-659-3600, whiteys.com Credit: Courtesy PhotoWing Warehouse
This small, local chain specializes in fresh, never-frozen wings, not just one night a week but all day, every day. On Mondays and Wednesdays, boneless wings are on special at just 50 cents apiece, and you always have an entire menu’s worth of flavors to pick from — 38 of them, to be exact. Sauces and rubs are divided into six categories: Sweets, Milds, Mediums, Hot, Dry Rubs and Crazy Hots. Among the more interesting options are Cactus Ranch, Cali Gold, Asian Cajun Fusion and one that’s simply called Ouch. Hey, at least they warned you. Cleveland’s OG purveyor of wings now has 12 Northeast Ohio locations (plus two in Canton and one in Columbus), and Monday night is Wing Night at all of them. Traditional wings are 90 cents apiece, and boneless are 85 cents; you must order in fives. Usually, the Lizard is happy to accommodate special requests (from types, like all flats or all drums, to cooking style, like double grilled or extra-extra-extra crispy), but on Wing Nights, you’ve got just two choices: traditional or crispy. You do, however, have 19 sauces to decide between, like molassesy Cajun with parmesan cheese or the melt-your-face-off Toad in the Hole, made with Trinidad scorpion peppers. Can’t get enough? The boneless wing deal runs on Tuesdays, too. Multiple locations, winkinglizard.com Credit: Courtesy Photo
