Howie Day is a pretty great solo performer. He’s been playing piano since age 5 and guitar and singing since age 12. By 15 he started writing his own songs and performing live shows. Throughout his career, he’s been a funny and interactional performer. Where acoustic songs can sometimes start to sound the same after a while, one after the other, he uses samplers and effects pedals to mix things up, ust like he did at his show at the Music Box Supper Club Wednesday night. He put on a delightful 12-song, two-hour-plus sho switching betwee two guitars and keyboard. Here’s all the action we caught.
