Before joining forces in a hybrid band schooled in the conventions of traditional bluegrass (vocal harmonies, instrumentation) while equally immersed in the genre’s contemporary jam aspects (original songs, virtuoso players), the Infamous Stringdusters have done sessions with the likes of Dolly Parton, Charlie Daniels and Rebecca Lynn Howard. After their triumphant bow at the 2004 International Bluegrass Music Association Awards and a ton of touring, the Stringdusters uncorked their distilled studio essence on 2007’s Fork in the Road, which earned them Emerging Artist, Album and Song of the Year awards from the IBMA. The band’s self-titled 2008 follow-up reached No. 1 on the bluegrass chart. In a genre that prizes age and experience, the hotshots in the Infamous Stringdusters are making a big mark at an early age.
