Twentysomething country singer Natalie Stovall admits she’s a “Silly Kid” in one of her songs. That’s a fitting summation. Stovall has a powerhouse voice, but her childish material (“Silly Kid” is punctuated with a series of annoying “nah, nah, nahs”) makes Taylor Swift sound all grown-up. Stovall peppers her MySpace site with many trivial biographical details (her favorite flower is the gerbera daisy, her middle name is Patricia, she got her first gig when she was 10, etc.), designed to appeal more to tweens than adults. Still, Stovall has performed at a White House dinner, opened for Gretchen Wilson and has been selling out dates on her current tour, which stops at Brothers Lounge (11609 Detroit Ave., 216.226.2767) at 9:30 tonight. Tickets: $5 advance, $7 day of show. — Jeff Niesel

  1. I’ve been a Natalie fan ever since I saw her play in Nashville a couple years ago and I’m very excited she’s finally coming to Cleveland… I have to say this is probably one of the most poorly researched write-ups I’ve ever seen on an artist.

Natalie has one of the highest energy arena-style stage shows I’ve ever seen. She’ll go from Led Zeppelin to Charlie Daniels without batting an eye… She is definitely not for “tweens”… Despite what you have gathered from a single youtube video of a two year old concert.

If you’re not going to like an artist… That’s fine, but you’re a writer… At least know what you’re talking about before you print it.

  2. I want to first say, it’s a SHAME you think this. Have you ever actually seen her show???

I am an avid fan of Natalie Stovall… I live in Flordia and every time she is here I make sure not to miss her show!! I have been to my fair share of large venue shows and nothing has ever compared to Natalie’s performance and voice. I completely agree with GotCountry78… Natalie is one of a kind and I hope you’re able to make it to her show tonight… I KNOW you’re going to be writing a very different article in the morning.

  3. I hope you do more reacearch for your other reviews than you did for this one .
Natalie is an awesome artist. Great range of songs and an energetic stage presence.
One of a kind. Does anything from micheal jackson to alan jackson.
Go to the show then write another review.

  4. Natalie is an awesome singer, writer, and performer and a very sweet person too. Natalie is very versatile in her musical skills, while the writer of the review just used one song to analyze her abilities. I agree with the commenter who said “At least know what you’re talking about before you print it.”

natalie loves performing so much, she loves her fans, and she works so hard she deserves to have a fair review of her skills.

  5. Booooooo!!! I wonder how old Frank Lewis is. Probably too old to remember what it’s like to act like a silly kid!!! So sad!
    Love you Natalie!!!
