8/7: Antaeus/MorrisonDance at Lincoln Park

The Antaeus and MorrisonDance troupes play up their connection to the neighborhood in this weekend’s performance, which is part of the Arts in August program at Tremont’s Lincoln Park. Sarah Morrison says her company will honor all the servers who work in Tremont restaurants with “Tray Magnifique.” They’ll also give a nod to her husband Scott Radke’s mural painting — which “has been all over Tremont for years,” says Morrison — in “Radke’s Melancholy Chromosomes,” a dance defined by large masks Radke made for the dancers. Morrison has also programmed a couple of newer works, “Goethe’s Theory of Colors” and “9.8 m/s^2,” which premiered a few weeks ago at the Ingenuity Festival. For their part, Joan Meggit’s Antaeus ensemble will perform “Fairy Flight Academy,” choreographed by former member Holly Labbe Cole. Meggit says it’s “just fun and silly, about four fairies who have failed to earn their wings, grew to the size of humans and are still trying.” Antaeus will also perform Meggit’s “Hidden Dialogue” and a new “very physical” piece, “Drift In, Drop Out.” Performances are at 8:30 p.m. today and tomorrow (and, in case of rain, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday) at Tremont’s Lincoln Park (W. 14th St. and Kenilworth Ave., 216.575.0920). Admission is free. — Michael Gill
