Its a mixed-up, crazy bill at the Grog Shop tonight. First up:
Night Kills the Day, whose debut album, The Study of Man, sounds like a moody merge of 80s goth and 90s metal -- sorta like the Cult, without the annoying singer.
Test Your Reflex, on the other hand, plays TRL-ready alt-rock on its first CD, The Burning Hour. U2-size riffs and choruses abound. Headliner
Electric Six is hands-down the funniest band of the millennium. Its 2006 album, Switzerland, features plenty of hooks to go along with the laughs on songs like I Buy the Drugs and Infected Girls. The smorgasbord of sounds stems from geographic disparity: Night Kills the Day is from New York, Test Your Reflex hails from Los Angeles, and Electric Six calls Detroit home.
