It’s a mixed-up, crazy bill at the Grog Shop tonight. First up: Night Kills the Day, whose debut album, The Study of Man, sounds like a moody merge of ’80s goth and ’90s metal -- sorta like the Cult, without the annoying singer. Test Your Reflex, on the other hand, plays TRL-ready alt-rock on its first CD, The Burning Hour. U2-size riffs and choruses abound. Headliner Electric Six is hands-down the funniest band of the millennium. Its 2006 album, Switzerland, features plenty of hooks to go along with the laughs on songs like “I Buy the Drugs” and “Infected Girls.” The smorgasbord of sounds stems from geographic disparity: Night Kills the Day is from New York, Test Your Reflex hails from Los Angeles, and Electric Six calls Detroit home.
