Cleveland’s 16th annual Dyngus Day Celebration, a Polish celebration that takes place on the day after Easter, returns on Monday, April 6, to the Gordon Square Arts District. Organizers of this year’s event promise that it’ll be bigger and better than ever.
The indoor-outdoor celebration will expand its footprint and close down Detroit Avenue from West 54th St. through West 58th St., creating a walkable festival featuring music, food and shopping.
There will be live polka bands, dancing, a pierogi eating contest and the crowning of Ms. Dyngus Day. DJ Kishka, the nationally renowned polka personality and local musician, will host the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will even be a live wedding as locals Becki Locke and James Sheehe will get married on the street stage at 1:15 p.m.
You can find a complete schedule of all the activities and musical performances on the Dyngus Day Cleveland website. Tickets cost $14.
