To the three Northeast Ohioans who are convinced that the knock-down dragouts on the Jerry Springer Show are authentic, tuck this upcoming segment into your “what-was-I-thinking?” file.
On Monday, two well-worn drag queens from Cleveland flew to the show’s Chicago studios to bitch-slap each other in an episode that will air in about three weeks. The feud between the sixty-something “Uncle Vinny” and thirty-something “Robin Banks” stemmed from an ongoing love triangle with a – gasp! – straight dude. Knowing they could get the show to pay air fare and an overnight stay at a swanky Windy City hotel, this dynamic duo put their story on videotape and sent it in. The producers salivated over it and invited them to air their queer quarrel in public. The best part is that they also promised that the show’s resident “minister,” the drunk and dissheveled Rev. Schnorr, would marry the “winner” and her paramour on stage.
But there’s a glitch in this girls-gone-wild scenario. Vinny – who, sources say, is a “wrinkled-up, 100-year-old grandma” – and Banks are actually best of friends. And because they like to steal the spotlight whenever they can, they asked a gay pal to play the straight-man part.
Sadly, due to a confidentiality clause in their contracts, nobody’s saying who tied the knot in the end. “No one in their right mind anywhere in this country is going to believe this bullshit,” says an intimate of both Vinny and Banks. “It’s just proof positive that nothing on Jerry Springer is for real.” — Cris Glaser

I Watch the Jerry Springer show almost every day. I have a question is Rev.Scnorr really an alcoholic,I get the feeling he is laying the part,and the times you see him driking its just soda
I think in the beginning like a 100 years ago that the Springer show was real but it’s just gotten plum stupid anymore. Why are all the girls barefoot and wearing shorts under their dresses ? (Thank goodness for that ) Because they know ahead of time that they will be doing the “Jerry Fight”.
Yea the topics are so stupid anymore,you can obviously see that the people trying to play the part are just a bunch of horrible actors!! I watch every now and then and pick which one played their part the best,wondering about Maury Povich now,lol, I think its still legit but prob just matter of time .The show Baggage is still the real thing ,its decent to watch but Jerry Springer show is just ridiculous anymore!
I am someone that never watched the Jerry Springer show in the past. I seen it as what type of degrading, embarrassment, ignorant human being would truly want to go & behave this way on television ? For everyone to see. If anyone’s story happens to be real or they are merely playing a role they are making themselves look like they are white trash & good rats. I know people who live in the hood & people who live in trailers who do not & would not ever behave this way. It makes Americans look like complete & utter fools. Jerry Springer himself is very intelligent & he even puts these fools down in a very intellectual way. These people do not even see that they are making fools of themselves. The only reason I watch the show sometimes now 15 or more years later is to watch Jerry, to listen to what he has to say. Honestly it is pretty obvious that some of these situations are very real while others are fake.. Even in your blog , you said yourself these people called up the Springer show. They sent the tape in, it wasnt the show going out asking random people to do their show & to please lie. Nope like you said these people made this whole story up. So does that make the whole show fake? No it does not. It makes your blog fake because you have gotten people” including myself” to tap on your interesting but dishonest Title, ” Jerry Springer Fake” I wish that we as a society will wake up and realize that we can go to work and provide ourselves with a plane ticket and pay for our own hotel. Instead of making up lies, & then turning around saying that Jerry is Fake!!!
It’s time we stop willingly making ourselves look like morons. You Go Jerry Spinger, for profiting on people who would rather have 5 seconds of fame than to care about what they make themselves look like. I sincerely hope & pray that these people took the time to listen to his words at the end of the show
