Danceworks opens its season tonight with
Burn the Heavens, an Antaeus Dance performance based on the first batch of Abu-Ghraib photos. "I wanted to comment on the cruelty and the effect that has on our society," says Antaeus' artistic director Joan Meggitt. The piece incorporates two groups of dancers one aggressive, the other peaceful. "It is an examination of two kinds of people," says Meggitt, "those who can acknowledge their feelings and others who move away from that contact."
