At 7:30 pm in Warner Concert Hall, Timothy Weiss will conduct the Oberlin Sinfonietta in world premieres of works by Christian Quiñones, Daniel Pesca, Michael Frazier, and Matthew Brown. 77 W. College St., Oberlin. It’s also free.

Saturday

2:00 pm – Music at Main presents Black Voltron, a group that fuses jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul, house/disco, and world music, honoring the Black Diaspora while innovating contemporary music. Third Floor Fine Arts Lobby, Cleveland Public Library Main Library, 325 Superior Ave., Cleveland. Free.

At the same hour, the Rosa Lee Chinese Music Ensemble will play Silk and Bamboo-style Chinese music at the Orange Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, 31975 Chagrin Blvd., Pepper Pike. Free.

And at 8 pm – Cleveland Uncommon Sound Project will host Gleb Kanasevich, clarinet and waveforms / Ahn in an evening of bold, exploratory sound art at 1433 E 33rd St., Cleveland, Tickets available online.
