Native American screenwriter Sherman Alexie talks about the making of Smoke Signals during today's Writers & Readers lecture series at Cleveland Public Library. The 1998 flick is about an Indian who tags along with a buddy on a cross-country trek to collect the remains of his pal's alcoholic dad. The film scored two awards at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.
