If you’re looking for fun for the whole family or a trip with some friends, there are plenty of water parks within a short drive of Cleveland to enjoy this summer. Cool off from that hot Northeast Ohio sun by enjoying water slides, splash parks and tons of other aquatic activities.

Clay’s Park 13190 Patterson St. NW, North Lawrence Located in between Massillon and Barberton, you’ll find the small town of North Lawrence, home to Clay’s Park, a lake that doubles as a water park. Baylor Beach Park 8725 Manchester Ave. SW., Navarre About an hour’s drive from Cleveland, just south of Massillon, you’ll find Navarre, home to Baylor Beach Park and one of the best water slides around. Lorain County Metroparks Splash Zone 95 W. Hamilton Rd., Oberlin In Oberlin, you’ll find the Lorain County Metroparks Splash Zone. With water jets, a small slide with water cannons, a mini pool for the little ones with a waterfall and two 24 feet high waterslides, this makes for a great family outing not too far from Cleveland. Uhrichsville Water Park 401 E. 12th St., Uhrichsville 90 miles south of Cleveland you’ll find the town of Uhrichsville and the Uhrichsville Water Park. The Watering Hole Safari & Waterpark 1530 S. Danbury Rd., Port Clinton The Watering Hole Safari & Waterpark is located in the vacation town of Port Clinton. This waterpark boasts the Kid’s Tee House with four slides, a three story slide tower, a lazy river, a coral reef river ride, a typhoon rush slide tower, a swim-up tiki bar and more.

Zoombezi Bay 4850 Powell Rd., Powell In the Columbus suburb of Powell is Zoombezi Bay, a water park run by the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. This may be the best water park in the state with the first waterslide in the country to incorporate light and audio effects and Baboon Lagoon, a multi-level play structure with a 1,000 gallon bucket dump. Pioneer Waterland & Dry Fun Park 10661 Kile Rd., Chardon This Geauga County waterpark has tons of attractions for the whole family, but the ones that cool you off are worth admission alone. Get a thrill and keep it chill with six story-high themed waterslides. If you’re not as adventurous but still up for fun, float down their river in innertubes or play some water sports.
