This William Trout-Designed Bay Village Contemporary Cabin Just Hit The Market For $1.1 Million

Overlooking the Lake in Bay Village (25140 Lake Road) sits this 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2,266 square foot home that just hit the market for $1.1 million. The home was designed in 1979 by renowned architect William Trout and has absolutely gorgeous views over Lake Erie. In fact, Trout designed the home to accentuate those views and the natural light.

Trout, who won the 1978 Cleveland Arts Prize for Architecture, built his career on a belief in smaller, more unique homes. His goal was to occupy less land and build homes that required a lower cost and time for maintenance, heating, cooling and decorating. While Trout built homes for Joseph Heinen, Gaylord Perry, a former Lieutenant Governor and many other well to-do clients, he also built homes for blue collar, working class Clevelanders. His signature aesthetic was a mountain lodge feel that this Bay Village home has in addition to skylight and large windows to bring in the natural light. Trout was also designing energy efficient homes before it was en vogue. Trout ran his own firm based out of Rocky River. About half the homes he created contained no more than 1,600 square feet of living space.

The home is listed by Anthony Latina of RE/MAX Crossroads Properties. You can contact Anthony at (440) 465-5611
