Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings will open its first Northeast Ohio location soon at Crocker Park. The Virginia-based chain with more than 100 outposts will look to succeed where its predecessor at the exact same address — Hot Chicken Takeover — did not.

That Ohio-based chain grew from a weekend pop-up in Columbus to seven locations. After debuting in Westlake and Strongsville, it soon thereafter began shuttering low-performing spots before the sputtering business was acquired by Craveworthy Brands for $1. The company quickly closed the few remaining spots.

Hangry Joe’s offers the usual range of hot chicken options — tenders, sandwiches, wraps, chicken and waffles — with spice levels ranging from mild to angry hot.

Look for it to open in April.
